Good sushi. Good price. Apparently they have a happy hour and have special priced sushi. Rolls for $3.95 each. I think it was 2-4 maybe
The seaweed salad had a weird aftertaste and the sushi seemed to be thrown together by someone angry. The service was lacking as well especially since there were only like five tables being served. Anyways at least the price was right.
Over all it was a positive experience, and this place is seriously good.
The food is delicious. The tempura was crispy while not being greasy. The seafood is fresh and succulent. The restaurant was a clean, quiet, and sophisticated atmosphere. The staff was also polite. My one gripe and reason why this specific Samurai did not get 5 stars: the sashimi was cut terribly! It was literally an inch thick. And if you know anything about sashimi, its best being thin. The fish was such amazing quality, but each bite was so overbearing because of the size. My server said you can ask for it to be sliced thinly, but seriously if I'm ordering sashimi shouldnt it be sliced that way to begin with? Also the nigri kept falling apart, and there wasnt any wasabi already laid between the rice and fish. And lastly the sushi rolls we ordered also had the tendency of falling apart.
Samurai is my absolute favorite sushi restaurant in the world. I may not have visited all of them in the world, but of the ones I have visited this one definitely is top-notch. The service is great, the restaurant is clean, and the food is wonderful! The price is reasonable , and I have returned multiple times. If you're looking for great sushi on the coast, this is the place to go.
